Welcome to Joan, our newest arrival at Volo

The newest arrival at Volo farm is a dun colored mule born to Tasha, the pony, on August 24, 2006. Tasha was purchased from the local auction in mid August when Linda Levy noticed her standing in a holding pen with 25 or 30 other horses heavy with foal. Says Levy,
”I just couldn’t picture this little mare foaling in that big crowd...” Students Meaghan Dwyer and Sarah Laughlin on foal watch called Levy to say come see the foal. Both girls thought Levy was insulting the filly when she announced it’s a mule. Levy had to explain to the girls that the cross on the back and the oversized ears where classic mule characteristics. Tasha and baby Joan are both happy and robust. Stop by the first stall in the school aisle and visit with the pair.
